Team: Chicago Whales · Chi-Feds
Years Active: 1914–1915
Home: Weeghman Park (today Wrigley Field) — Chicago, IL
Titles: 1915 Federal League champions
Originally branded the Chicago Federals (Chi-Feds) in 1914, the club was renamed the Chicago Whales in 1915 — the same season they captured the Federal League pennant by half a game over the St. Louis Terriers. Owner Charlie Weeghman built a new ballpark on the North Side that still stands today as Wrigley Field.
When the Federal League folded after 1915, Weeghman bought the Cubs and moved them into his ballpark for 1916, giving Wrigley Field its enduring tenant. Notable Whales included player-manager Joe Tinker, of Tinker-to-Evers-to-Chance fame, and Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown.
