The Seattle Dragons debuted in the 2020 revival of the XFL under head coach Jim Zorn, giving the Pacific Northwest its first XFL franchise and building one of the more distinctive brands of that season.
The franchise returned for the 2023 XFL relaunch under owners Dwayne Johnson and RedBird Capital, rebranded as the Seattle Sea Dragons and playing at the renamed Lumen Field. Under head coach Jim Haslett the team went 7–3 and reached the playoffs, losing in the semifinals to the eventual champion Arlington Renegades. The franchise was dissolved when the XFL merged with the USFL to form the UFL in 2024.
