The Phoenix Roadrunners were one of the most successful clubs of the late Western Hockey League (WHL) era and one of the most beloved teams in early Arizona pro sports. Formed in 1967 when a Phoenix ownership group purchased and relocated the Victoria Maple Leafs, the Roadrunners played their entire run at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum, known to fans as "The Madhouse on McDowell."
Phoenix won back-to-back Lester Patrick Cups as WHL champions in 1972–73 and 1973–74, the league's final title before it folded. The Roadrunners then moved up to the World Hockey Association with their roster largely intact, posting winning records in their first two seasons. Center Robbie Ftorek anchored the WHA years, scoring 117 points in 1976–77 to become the first American-born MVP in a major professional hockey league, before financial pressure folded the franchise ahead of the WHA's final season in 1977.

How to order
- Type the number and/or name you'd like on the jersey in the customization fields. You can leave the name field blank if you only want a number.
- Names and numbers are made in ALL CAPS by default. If you want a specific style — such as a lowercase letter or mixed case — please add to the order notes, and/or email custom@royalretros.com.
- To order a fully blank jersey, check the "Leave blank" box. Blank jerseys still require full production time — we don't keep them in stock.
Important review carefully before ordering
Once your order is placed:
- Changes can only be made within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, the order has entered production and we can't modify it.
- Cancellations after 48 hours are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Construction options
Many jerseys offer choices like application method (replica/printed vs sewn tackle twill), sleeve length, or add-on patches. The available options appear on the customization screen as you go through it.
Custom measurements
We can produce jerseys in custom measurements including women's and youth sizes. We can also modify other details on the jerseys shown on the site. For these requests, email custom@royalretros.com before ordering.
Blank-jersey exchanges
Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit. Custom jerseys with a name or number printed/sewn are final sale.

Production timeframe
Custom jerseys are made-to-order and ship in 3-7 weeks depending on construction style. The exact lead time for the style you choose is shown on the Decoration Type screen during customization.
Expedited shipping
Choosing an expedited shipping method does not speed up production, it only affects how we ship the order once it's been made. If you need your jersey by a specific date, contact us before ordering.

Standard shipping starts at $5.99. Free Economy shipping on US orders $125+. International shipping available to most countries.

- Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit.
- If a jersey arrives damaged or incorrect, we'll remake it at no charge or issue a full refund. email info@royalretros.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a photo.
