The Houston Colt 45's were an expansion club staffed largely by the front office of the former AAA Houston Buffaloes. They began play in the shadow of the construction of what would become the Astrodome and were managed in every one of their three seasons by Harry Craft. Despite a roster of promising young talent, the Colt 45's never finished above .500 in the major leagues and ranked last in attendance in two of their first three years.
Both Colt Stadium and the Colt 45's name were retired when the Astrodome opened for the 1965 season — the franchise picking a new nickname inspired by its hometown's role in the space program. The old open-air ballpark was eventually dismantled and its parts shipped south, where they were used to build two stadiums in Mexico. Notable Colt 45's included Joe Morgan, Jimmy Wynn, Turk Farrell, Rusty Staub, and Bob Aspromonte.

How to order
- Type the number and/or name you'd like on the jersey in the customization fields. You can leave the name field blank if you only want a number.
- To order a fully blank jersey, check the "Leave blank" box. Blank jerseys still require full production time — we don't keep them in stock.
Important review carefully before ordering
Once your order is placed:
- Changes can only be made within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, the order has entered production and we can't modify it.
- Cancellations after 48 hours are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Construction options
Many jerseys offer choices like application method (replica/printed vs sewn tackle twill), sleeve length, or add-on patches. The available options appear on the customization screen as you go through it.
Custom measurements
We can produce jerseys in custom measurements including women's and youth sizes. We can also modify other details on the jerseys shown on the site. For these requests, email custom@royalretros.com before ordering.
Blank-jersey exchanges
Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit. Custom jerseys with a name or number printed/sewn are final sale.

Production timeframe
Custom jerseys are made-to-order and ship in 3-7 weeks depending on construction style. The exact lead time for the style you choose is shown on the Decoration Type screen during customization.
Expedited shipping
Choosing an expedited shipping method does not speed up production, it only affects how we ship the order once it's been made. If you need your jersey by a specific date, contact us before ordering.

Standard shipping starts at $5.99. Free Economy shipping on US orders $125+. International shipping available to most countries.
