The New York Guardians played in the 2020 revival of the XFL at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford — the same building used by the NFL's Giants and Jets. Under head coach Kevin Gilbride, the Guardians gave the New York metro market its second XFL franchise after the original 2001 New York/New Jersey Hitmen. The franchise was one of the most graphically polished brands of the 2020 XFL season. When the league relaunched in 2023, the New York franchise was relocated and rebranded as the Orlando Guardians.
