The Seals began play as the San Francisco Seals and eventually moved to Oakland. After two championships in the Western Hockey League. The team joined the major league in 1967 as an expansion team. While in the bigs, the Seals had one of the worst records in the history of professional sports with a .349 winning percentage. Oakland baseball owner Charlie Finley eventually bought the team and while accomplishments on the ice may not have been memorable, their promotions and uniforms certainly were. The team eventually became the Cleveland Barons, who would later merge with the Minnesota North Stars.
