The Salt Lake City Golden Eagles played in three separate minor hockey leagues starting with the 1969-70 campaign in the Western Hockey League (WHL). When that circuit folded, the team jumped to the Central Hockey League in 1974. In 1984, they were in the International Hockey League (IHL). They moved to Michigan in 1994 and became the Detroit Vipers.
