This hat celebrates the franchise that spent seven seasons in the World Hockey Association (WHA) under three different identities — beginning as the Ottawa Nationals in 1972–73, becoming the Toronto Toros for three seasons at Maple Leaf Gardens (1973–76), and finishing as the Birmingham Bulls in the Deep South (1976–79). Owner John Bassett's franchise made bold signings across all three eras, including the league-shaking Vaclav Nedomansky contract in Toronto and the famous "Baby Bulls" — Rick Vaive, Michel Goulet, Rob Ramage, Craig Hartsburg, and Ken Linseman — in Birmingham.

The Toros and Bulls identities together represent one of the WHA's most colorful franchise journeys — from the Canadian capital to Maple Leaf Gardens to a Deep South market hungry for professional hockey. When the WHA dissolved in 1979, the franchise transitioned into the Central Hockey League as the Bulls before eventually folding, ending one of the most-traveled and most-collected identities in major-league professional hockey history.
