The San Antonio Force played a single season in the AFL in 1992 at HemisFair Arena. The Force were part of the league's 1992 expansion class and gave South Texas its first arena football franchise during a period when the AFL was rapidly testing new markets.
The team folded after one season as the early-1990s AFL consolidated, but the Force's single season made San Antonio a notable footnote in the league's expansion history before the city's pro football landscape shifted toward later USFL and XFL ventures.
