The Houston Aeros are one of the most successful franchises in the history of secondary-tier North American professional hockey. The original Houston Aeros played in the World Hockey Association (WHA) from 1972 to 1978, winning back-to-back Avco Cups in 1974 and 1975 with a roster anchored by Hall of Famer Gordie Howe and his sons Mark and Marty — the only father-and-sons trio to play on the same professional hockey championship team.

The Aeros name returned in 1994 when Houston energy executive Chuck Watson founded a new International Hockey League (IHL) franchise in the same city. The revived Aeros built one of the IHL's premier organizations, capturing the 1999 Turner Cup by defeating the Orlando Solar Bears in a seven-game final at home in front of more than 16,000 fans. The championship was anchored by IHL MVP Brian Wiseman (109 points in 1998–99), franchise scoring leader Mark Freer, and coach Dave Tippett, who left for the Los Angeles Kings after the title run. When the IHL folded in 2001, the Aeros were one of six franchises absorbed by the American Hockey League, where they continued play through 2013.

  • Changes can only be made within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, the order has entered production and we can't modify it.
  • Cancellations after 48 hours are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Construction options

Many jerseys offer choices like application method (replica/printed vs sewn tackle twill), sleeve length, or add-on patches. The available options appear on the customization screen as you go through it.

Custom measurements

We can produce jerseys in custom measurements including women's and youth sizes. We can also modify other details on the jerseys shown on the site. For these requests, email custom@royalretros.com before ordering.

Blank-jersey exchanges

Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit. Custom jerseys with a name or number printed/sewn are final sale.

Production timeframe

Custom jerseys are made-to-order and ship in 3-7 weeks depending on construction style. The exact lead time for the style you choose is shown on the Decoration Type screen during customization.

Expedited shipping

Choosing an expedited shipping method does not speed up production, it only affects how we ship the order once it's been made. If you need your jersey by a specific date, contact us before ordering.

Standard shipping starts at $5.99. Free Economy shipping on US orders $125+. International shipping available to most countries.
