The San Jose Rhinos were one of the most successful and longest-running franchises in Roller Hockey International (RHI) history, playing six seasons from 1994 to 1999 — including the final RHI season after the league briefly relaunched. The Rhinos captured the 1996 Murphy Cup as RHI champions and continued as one of the league's flagship franchises through the league's various restructurings.

Playing at San Jose Arena, the Rhinos built one of the strongest Bay Area roller hockey followings, with the distinctive purple-and-green rhinoceros identity becoming one of the signature visual marks of mid-to-late-1990s professional roller hockey. The franchise folded when the RHI fully ceased operations after the 1999 season.
