Team: Los Angeles Avengers
Years Active: 2000–2008
Home: Staples Center — Los Angeles, CA
The Los Angeles Avengers played nine seasons in the Arena Football League from 2000 to 2008 at Staples Center, sharing the building with the NBA's Lakers and Clippers. The Avengers gave Los Angeles its longest-running AFL presence, reaching the playoffs multiple times and standing as the league's most sustained attempt to establish the city as an arena-football market — outlasting the short-lived Cobras of 1988 and the Anaheim Piranhas of 1996–1997.
The franchise folded after the 2008 season when the AFL went on hiatus.
