Louisiana Sports History

The Crescent City has hosted ABA, USFL, and AAA baseball franchises across the past sixty years. The 1967–1970 ABA Buccaneers reached the inaugural ABA Finals. The USFL Breakers spent 1984 in New Orleans (after Boston, before Portland). The PCL Zephyrs ran 1993–2016 as one of the great Triple-A franchises of the modern era. Shreveport hosted Louisiana's CFL American expansion entry as the Pirates in 1994–1995.
