The Grand Rapids Rockets were one of the early International Hockey League (IHL) franchises in western Michigan, playing six seasons in Grand Rapids in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The Rockets helped establish Grand Rapids as an IHL hockey town, a tradition that would later be carried forward by the Grand Rapids Owls and ultimately the modern Grand Rapids Griffins.

The Rockets folded in the early 1960s as the original-era IHL contracted, but their brief existence is part of the hockey identity that would make Grand Rapids one of the most stable minor-pro hockey markets of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
