The Florida Blazers played the 1974 season of the WFL at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, becoming the league's first Central Florida franchise. The Blazers reached World Bowl I and fell 22–21 to the Birmingham Americans in the inaugural championship game.

Head coach Jack Pardee guided the Blazers despite ownership turmoil that left players unpaid for much of the season — a remarkable run for a team that battled financial collapse week by week. The franchise was reorganized and relocated to San Antonio as the Wings for 1975.
