The Millers were one of the most successful franchises in minor leagues history — winning nine American Association championships and featuring 13 future Hall of Famers across their 76-year run. The team's famous rivalry with the cross-river St. Paul Saints often produced doubleheaders where the clubs played in both cities on the same day.
The Millers' run ended when the Washington Senators relocated to Minnesota in 1961 and became the Twins. Notable Millers alumni included Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Carl Yastrzemski, Orlando Cepeda, and Monte Irvin — a lineup of Hall of Fame talent that few minor-league teams in any era could match.
