Collection: Baltimore AAFC Colts
The original Colts played three seasons in the AAFC from 1947 to 1949 at Memorial Stadium. The franchise was the relocated continuation of the 1946 Miami Seahawks and gave Baltimore its first major-league pro football team.
The Colts joined the older league with the Browns and 49ers when the AAFC dissolved after 1949, but the franchise folded in 1950 after a single season due to financial losses. Baltimore would later regain a franchise in 1953 (the modern Colts, which moved to Indianapolis in 1984) — but the original AAFC Colts are a separate, earlier franchise in the city's pro football lineage.
