The Chaparrals — charter members of the ABA in 1967 — were known for their extremely wealthy ownership group, which ironically had a reputation for being cheap. The team rarely signed its draft picks, and the lack of investment from ownership translated to a lack of interest from fans.
Despite having Hall of Famer Cliff Hagan as a player-coach and a solid team that made the playoffs every season, fans rarely showed. The team briefly became the Texas Chaparrals and played home games in various cities around the state, which only made attendance worse. After missing the playoffs for the first time in 1973, the team was sold and moved to San Antonio. Notable players included Cliff Hagan, Ron Boone, John Beasley, Cincy Powell, and Bob Verga.

How to order
- Type the number and/or name you'd like on the jersey in the customization fields. You can leave the name field blank if you only want a number.
- To order a fully blank jersey, check the "Leave blank" box. Blank jerseys still require full production time — we don't keep them in stock.
Important review carefully before ordering
Once your order is placed:
- Changes can only be made within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, the order has entered production and we can't modify it.
- Cancellations after 48 hours are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Construction options
Many jerseys offer choices like application method (replica/printed vs sewn tackle twill), sleeve length, or add-on patches. The available options appear on the customization screen as you go through it.
Custom measurements
We can produce jerseys in custom measurements including women's and youth sizes. We can also modify other details on the jerseys shown on the site. For these requests, email custom@royalretros.com before ordering.
Blank-jersey exchanges
Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit. Custom jerseys with a name or number printed/sewn are final sale.

Production timeframe
Custom jerseys are made-to-order and ship in 3-7 weeks depending on construction style. The exact lead time for the style you choose is shown on the Decoration Type screen during customization.
Expedited shipping
Choosing an expedited shipping method does not speed up production, it only affects how we ship the order once it's been made. If you need your jersey by a specific date, contact us before ordering.

Standard shipping starts at $5.99. Free Economy shipping on US orders $125+. International shipping available to most countries.
