The Floridians played their final two seasons in the ABA from 1970 to 1972 as the rebranded continuation of the Miami Floridians (originally the 1967 Minnesota Muskies). Owner Ned Doyle replaced the entire roster ahead of 1970–71 and dropped the city name from the franchise.
The Floridians' iconic orange-and-magenta uniforms — among the most striking in pro basketball history — date to this two-season era. The franchise looked to relocate but ended up folding after 1971–72.
