The Los Angeles Stars played two seasons in the ABA from 1968 to 1970 at the Sports Arena as the relocated continuation of the Anaheim Amigos. Hall of Famer Bill Sharman became head coach in LA. Poor attendance prompted a relocation to Utah in 1970 — where the franchise would win the 1971 ABA championship as the Utah Stars. Notable players across the LA/Utah years included Moses Malone (Hall of Fame), Roger Brown (Hall of Fame), Zelmo Beaty (Hall of Fame), Mack Calvin, and Willie Wise.
