The Riversharks played fifteen seasons as an independent professional club at Campbell's Field on the Camden waterfront, directly across the Delaware River from Philadelphia. New Jersey spent roughly $18.5 million to build the ballpark, including $7 million in environmental cleanup on the site.

Camden won three straight division titles from 2003 to 2005 and reached the league championship series in 2004, swept in three games. Facing crowds that averaged around 3,000 a game, ownership declined to renew its lease and moved the franchise north for 2016, ending the Riversharks' run; Campbell's Field was demolished in 2019.
