The Stallions joined the Major Indoor Soccer League as an expansion team in 1979, the league's second season. The club never got past the first round of the playoffs in three postseason appearances, and attendance dwindled as the team missed the playoffs entirely in its final two years.
The Stallions folded in 1984. Notable players included a late-career Eusébio and Jim May.
