The St. Louis Flyers were a long-running minor-league hockey franchise, giving the Gateway City a stable hockey identity for two decades before the modern era arrived. Founded in 1932 in the American Hockey Association, the Flyers moved into the broader minor-pro ranks after World War II.

Playing throughout at the St. Louis Arena, the Flyers served as a development affiliate for top-tier organizations and were anchored in the late 1940s by long-time players including Earl Robertson and Cliff Goupille. The franchise folded after the 1952–53 season; St. Louis wouldn't see top-tier professional hockey again until the expansion era of the late 1960s.
