The Maroons were founded in 1924 to give Montreal's English-speaking community its own team alongside the French-Canadian Canadiens, and a new arena — the Montreal Forum — was built that year to house them. They won the Stanley Cup in just their second season, upsetting the Ottawa Senators and then beating the WCHL's Victoria Cougars three games to one, the last Cup final ever contested between teams from two different leagues.
A second Cup followed in 1935, a sweep of the Toronto Maple Leafs, with Nels Stewart and Hooley Smith anchoring the roster across 14 seasons. The Maroons were also the last non-Original-Six franchise to win the Cup until the Philadelphia Flyers in 1974. The Great Depression caught up with the franchise, which suspended operations after the 1937–38 season and was never revived.

How to order
- Type the number and/or name you'd like on the jersey in the customization fields. You can leave the name field blank if you only want a number.
- Names and numbers are made in ALL CAPS by default. If you want a specific style — such as a lowercase letter or mixed case — please add to the order notes, and/or email custom@royalretros.com.
- To order a fully blank jersey, check the "Leave blank" box. Blank jerseys still require full production time — we don't keep them in stock.
Important review carefully before ordering
Once your order is placed:
- Changes can only be made within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, the order has entered production and we can't modify it.
- Cancellations after 48 hours are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Construction options
Many jerseys offer choices like application method (replica/printed vs sewn tackle twill), sleeve length, or add-on patches. The available options appear on the customization screen as you go through it.
Custom measurements
We can produce jerseys in custom measurements including women's and youth sizes. We can also modify other details on the jerseys shown on the site. For these requests, email custom@royalretros.com before ordering.
Blank-jersey exchanges
Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit. Custom jerseys with a name or number printed/sewn are final sale.

Production timeframe
Custom jerseys are made-to-order and ship in 3-7 weeks depending on construction style. The exact lead time for the style you choose is shown on the Decoration Type screen during customization.
Expedited shipping
Choosing an expedited shipping method does not speed up production, it only affects how we ship the order once it's been made. If you need your jersey by a specific date, contact us before ordering.

Standard shipping starts at $5.99. Free Economy shipping on US orders $125+. International shipping available to most countries.

- Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit.
- If a jersey arrives damaged or incorrect, we'll remake it at no charge or issue a full refund. email info@royalretros.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a photo.
