The Bulldogs formed in 1905 among Ohio's industrial-town teams, then signed Olympic star Jim Thorpe in 1915, tripling attendance and giving pro football its first national draw. In 1920 club owner Ralph Hay hosted the meeting at his Canton car dealership that founded the American Professional Football Association, forerunner of today's league; Thorpe was named its first president.
Under player-coach Guy Chamberlin, Canton went undefeated in both 1922 (10–0–2) and 1923 (11–0–1) to win back-to-back championships. Unable to sustain the team financially as the league's smallest city, ownership sold the Bulldogs to Cleveland interests after 1923; a revived Canton squad played on through 1926 before folding for good. The Pro Football Hall of Fame opened in Canton in 1963, two miles from where the league was founded.

How to order
- Type the number and/or name you'd like on the jersey in the customization fields. You can leave the name field blank if you only want a number.
- Names and numbers are made in ALL CAPS by default. If you want a specific style — such as a lowercase letter or mixed case — please add to the order notes, and/or email custom@royalretros.com.
- To order a fully blank jersey, check the "Leave blank" box. Blank jerseys still require full production time — we don't keep them in stock.
Important review carefully before ordering
Once your order is placed:
- Changes can only be made within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, the order has entered production and we can't modify it.
- Cancellations after 48 hours are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Construction options
Many jerseys offer choices like application method (replica/printed vs sewn tackle twill), sleeve length, or add-on patches. The available options appear on the customization screen as you go through it.
Custom measurements
We can produce jerseys in custom measurements including women's and youth sizes. We can also modify other details on the jerseys shown on the site. For these requests, email custom@royalretros.com before ordering.
Blank-jersey exchanges
Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit. Custom jerseys with a name or number printed/sewn are final sale.

Production timeframe
Custom jerseys are made-to-order and ship in 3-7 weeks depending on construction style. The exact lead time for the style you choose is shown on the Decoration Type screen during customization.
Expedited shipping
Choosing an expedited shipping method does not speed up production, it only affects how we ship the order once it's been made. If you need your jersey by a specific date, contact us before ordering.

Standard shipping starts at $5.99. Free Economy shipping on US orders $125+. International shipping available to most countries.
