The Gamblers two-year run in the United States Football League (USFL) would be remembered for the terrific play of future great Jim Kelly and the debut of the "Run & Shoot'' offensive scheme in professional football. With veteran Jack Pardee serving as head coach and the innovative Mouse Davis at offensive coordinator, their explosive offense became well known throughout football. The established league's teams soon adopted the same offense, including the Oilers who shared the same stadium. The Gamblers also were the first team to use a no huddle offense outside of a two-minute drill.
