Cincinnati had been trying to get a team in the established hockey league for several years starting in the late 1960s, when the league was starting to expand beyond the so-called Original Six. By the early 1970s, local businessmen Brian Heekin and Bill DeWitt were spearheading the effort. Despite plans to build a state-of-the-art arena, the league was skittish on Cincinnati. Instead, Heekin and DeWitt accepted an invitation to join the rival World Hockey Association (WHA). Their brand new arena complete, the Stingers hit the ice in 1975.  In a league with a variety of memorable logos, the crest of the Cincinnati Stingers still stands out. The winged bumblebee that curves into a recognizable letter "C" is an enduring symbol of Cincinnati's only major league hockey franchise and recognized by hockey fans worldwide. Even though they had better attendance than fellow WHA squad the New England Whalers, and played in one of the top hockey arenas in the country, the Stingers were not included in the 1979 merger. The team reorganized and joined the Central Hockey League but folded after 33 games.

Custom measurements are available by request including women's and youth sizes.

Shipping

Shipping Timeframe:

Custom jerseys are made when ordered and may take anywhere from 3-8 weeks. Please refer to the estimated shipping times shown in the Decoration Type screen as you move through the customization options.

Expedited Shipping:

Expedited Shipping will not speed up production time. It only affects the method we use to ship your order once completed. Please contact us if you need your jersey by a certain date.

Changes/ Cancellations/ Returns

Changes and Cancellations:

Please review all order details closely. We cannot make any changes to an order 48 hours after purchase.

Cancellations after 48 hours are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Returns/Exchanges:

All custom jersey sales are final.

If a jersey arrives damaged or with errors, we will remake it at no charge or a process a full refund.
