The Colts joined the AAFC in the league's second season after financial problems prevented the team from playing the first year. The team was hardly competitive and financial problems would continue to plague the franchise. Despite its struggles on and off the field, the team was allowed to pick up players from other teams multiple times. The Colts joined the NFL In 1950, but folded after a 1-11 season. Three years later, an unrelated Baltimore Colts franchise was created which lives on today in Indianapolis.
