The Crawfords are recognized as one of the greatest teams of their era in the \u003ca href=\"\/en-ca\/collections\/nlb\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Nlb\" aria-label=\"Nlb\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003eNLB\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e. As a result of the team's success, the franchise was one of the few to own its own stadium: Greenlee Field, in the city's Hill District.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 1937, following back-to-back championships, many of the team's star players — including three future Hall of Famers — left to play in the Dominican Republic. The team never recovered, and after declining attendance the franchise moved twice and finally folded in 1940.
