The Huntington Blizzard hit the ice in 1993 as an expansion team in the East Coast hockey circuit. The team drew around 3,700 fans per game in its first two seasons. Attendance dropped off to around 2,300 fans in the team's final seasons in West Virginia. After a three year hiatus, the team relocated to Beaumont, Texas and became the Texas Wildcatters.
