Owner Gabe Rubin sold the team that summer to Bill Erickson, who promptly relocated the franchise to Minnesota for 1968–69 to fill the void left when the Lakers had moved to LA in 1960.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Pipers played their home games at the Met Center, the same arena used by the NHL's Minnesota North Stars.
